DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE.

Well-wishers allover the world with great honor I’m grateful to share with you some information about Mikka parents day and boarding primary school.

Am Ssalongo George Willington Kiberu, I’m the director of the school. I started this school due to the problem of orphans and vulnerable children in the area. I was moved to see that many children do not go school of because their parents have bad financial issues.

The need to have a nearby school in Mikka village determined the location of this school.

It was established on three separate  pieces of land, girls and boys dormitories each on its own piece of land and the third piece for administration and classrooms. But we still need much help to expand this area, because it is to small and accommodate the number of children in the area who can not afford to go the school nearby, because of their expensively.

Objectives of the school were stated, written and ready to be implemented by the runners of the school who showed interest and determination.

The community was grateful with us and by the end of the second term of the year of establishment [2003], the school was extending quality education to 140 pupils.

I was led to know that, among our pupils, 30 were orphans and I had to grant free services to 8 of them on my salary due to their very poor financial stand.

I did this to meet the school’s vision ‘to make impossibilities possible’ and fulfill one of our objective ‘to uplift the hopes of the orphans and financially disabled parents and guardians’

CHALLENGES

1. Among the number of challenges the school face, inability of parents and guardians to sustain their children in school is drastically reducing our hopes to meet our objectives.

It has immersed deep the school income into inadequacy to;

• Have enough teachers.
• Enough classrooms.
• Medical services.
• School vehicle.
• Good meals .

In my capacity I can not afford to meet the desired standard of the school .Hence

I appeal to well-wishers for any possible support.
